What are You looking for?

For all the people who have trouble silencing the mind, How many of you have actually tried meditation?
Yes, Letting go is very hard, and you will be able to extend your inner silence only by milliseconds each time you try, but keep at it!
But remember that Meditation should be effortless, it's no use Struggling for rest, it completely contra the goal:D
There is No Stress in the Present, think about that!
Stress in only in the Future & in the past, I should have done this, or i must still do that...Leave it!
Be HERE in the present. There's no need to be angry, or sad, RIGHT NOW.
You might have had your reasons a moment ago, and yes one will probably be pissed off again in the near future, there's enough of that going around, so don't worry!
Does any of this make any sense at all to you?
It requires some work, maybe a lifetime, maybe a few life times.
One must train the mind just like one needs to train his body for sports,
Right now I could never run a marathon, but if a start working at it really hard, maybe i could in a year or so...
A little seed of knowledge that helped me allot lately is this one by Ghandi;
"Silence isn't the absence of any sound, it's not being distracted by the noise."
So there you go.

The key to it all is in the Breath...think about this...
This is also handy for keeping ones emotional reactions in check. Just think, when you are crying, how are you breathing? Very irregularly right?
Or when you are angry? Very short sharp breaths right?
This clouds your mind and judgment and causes us to do all the stupid things we do in these situations.
Take a deep breath, it sounds so simple and it is really!
The Air is more then just oxygen, way more!
The Air = consciousness!
Think about it, if you go without air for more then 4 minutes, what do you lose...? Consciousness right?:)

I hope this helps some...
Brightest Blessings

Excellent post "Brother Deciple",

I read this a couple of days ago and was going to make a comment.
"No stress in the present" is right on!

I came back to re-read ~ little did I know I would be faced with a very stressful situation today and would need to be reminded of the wisdom in your words.

Okay ~ I'm breathing just fine ~ I'm in the present :)

Thanks for being there for me!

Love and light,
"Sis"
